Calvert Regional Park Expansion, CM&I Services

Development Facilitators, Inc. (DFI) provided Construction Management and Inspection (CM&I) services for the coordination and installation of seven (7) athletic fields and parking, field and parking lighting, as well as bio-retention, gravel wetlands and drainage systems.

The project is broken into three (3) phases: Phase One (1) includes the construction of one synthetic multi-purpose turf field, three (3) natural grass multi-purpose fields, a basketball court area and a parking lot with bus drop off and pick up areas. A pedestrian walking trail was constructed across the entire regional park. Additionally, DFI provided the management for paved areas, which are used to access different locations in the park.

Major work items included:

• Construction of six (6) multi-purpose fields.
• Construction of an eight (8)-foot wide, one (1)+ mile hiker and biker trail.
• Entrance roadway and parking lot grading and paving.
• Fencing.
• Grading and paving of a basketball court, field and parking lot lighting and associated electric service coordination with Delmarva Power.
• Landscape and sod installation.
• Mass grading of 40 acres for construction of a synthetic turf field.
• Sidewalk & curb and gutter.
• Storm Water Management (SWM) facilities include gravel wetlands and bio-retention facilities, storm drain and outfall to critical areas with box turtle habitats and stream beds.
