The Harmans/Dorsey Fire Station sports new and expanded bunk facilities with improvements to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), bath and shower, kitchen and day room areas. The new station updated the original construction, which was built in the early-1970s.
DFI provided Construction Management and Inspection (CM&I) services for the additions and renovations to the existing fire station, including the expansion of the fire station apparatus bay and interior renovations, which included new bathrooms, bunkrooms, lockers and office, as well as site work improvements for this project.
DFI’s significant contribution to the project included early identification of asbestos material which required remediation. DFI coordinated with Anne Arundel County, Maryland's facilities maintenance personnel for removal and replacement of failed under-slab storm and sanitary sewer, which had exceeded the pipe material life span.
