Development Facilitators, Inc. (DFI) provided construction management and senior resident construction inspection services during the Millersville Landfill Compost Pad project, located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

DFI included value engineering (VE) of soil cement according to the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) guidelines to remediate unsuitable existing soils. The company facilitated the coordination of traffic through the facility during the placement of over 5,000 tons of base course paving in one day without negatively impacting the operation of the landfill.

In addition to DFI's contributions, the project also included the construction and mass grading of f our acres of paved pad for depositing and processing yard waste into compost, the installation of a litter fence with deer and wildlife openings, concrete forebays, as well as stormwater management expansion, among other tasks completed during the project.

This facility is slated to generate revenue for the county, which will reduce the tax burden on county residents.
