Development Facilitators, Inc. (DFI) provided inspection for the $7.8 million dollar project to add lanes and a roundabout on Robinwood Drive in Washington County, Maryland. The improvements are part of a multi-phase transportation improvements project which aims to accommodate about 17,000 vehicles which use the corridor every day.
The Robinwood Drive Corridor II project consisted of a four-lane roadway connecting to a traffic circle that replaces a traffic signal. This design should allow the flow of traffic to move more smoothly which is essential when considering the nearby Meritus Medical Center (one of the largest employers in Washington County) and Hagerstown Community College.
Traffic signalization, storm drain upgrades, new curbing, and sidewalks and ramps are also part of the project plan.
