Frederick County, Maryland is known for its wonderful park facilities and the Utica District Park historic farmstead is no different. Nestled on 257 acres with views of the Catoctin Mountains, the new pavilions, restroom building and loop road increases recreation areas and access to trails.
DFI provided Construction Management and Inspection (CM&I) services for this parks and recreation project. The major project components included 48 parking spaces with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility and sidewalks, 2,250 linear feet of 24-foot-wide open section loop road, 65-foot by 30-foot restroom facility, Mechanical, Electrical & Plumping (MEP), including Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, gravity sewer to septic, pump station and a new force main. Additional work included a 45-foot by 40-foot pavilion and concrete pad, drinking water fountains and associated water lines, electrical pole, building, and pavilion lighting, storm drain, micro-bioretention, bio-swales, curb and gutter, roadway signage and landscaping.
Additionally, DFI supplied Resident Engineer duties working within the County's Procore, which is a cloud-based document control platform, to aid in preparing meetings, Quality Assurance (QA) and scheduling, among other responsibilities.
