Kent County High School Roof Replacement

Project description

This roofing project included the complete demolition and replacement of over 175,000 square feet of existing roof in accordance with National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) requirements. Development Facilitators, Inc. (DFI) identified multiple unnecessary roof drains which were eliminated.

DFI is providing Owner's Representative services for the Kent County High School Roof Replacement project, located in Kent County, Maryland. The project includes demolition of the 175,082-square-foot roof down to the metal substrate, replacement of wood nailers, metal edge and coping caps, cleaning and drying. The repairs to damaged areas of the existing roof deck were fixed in compliance with National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) requirements. Additional work included the installation of mechanically-fastened new wood nailers along all parapets and penetrations, placement of new ice and water shield under all metal components (coping cap and metal fascia), installation of tacked base sheet, base, second and third (cover board) layers of fully adhered insulation, perimeter and penetration fingerboard edge strips and cant, new metal standing seam canopies and two (2)-ply cold applied with flood and gravel. The roof will receive new flashing, as well.
