DFI spoke to over 300 middle and high school students in the Anne Arundel County, Maryland-area about the Construction Industry during the MdQI Construction Engineering Career Day on Thursday, October 13, 2022. The one-day event includes two the Construction Trades and Engineering careers, where students move around to different tables and can learn more about the presenting company and ask questions, as well as have an opportunity for hands-on activities with a tour of on-site machinery.
Carl Reimer, CCM, LEED AP BD&C, General Manger for DFI's Construction Management Services, and Chris Wissmann, Construction Inspection Coordinator and Drone Pilot, delved into what DFI does, as well as salary information regarding specific positions within the industry. Additionally, Wissmann elaborated on DFI's drone and spoke about our services. Students passed around the drone remote to have a better understanding of how it looks and what the controls would do. Ray Streib, DFI's President, walked around and spoke to students about what they think they'd like to do and gave advice on how to achieve their goals.
